Episodes: 6
Genre: Science fiction, Surreal, Comedy, Parody
Favorite Characters : Naota
My Rating: PG-16

Summary:
Naota's life is confined to going to school and living with his father and grandfather. The usually boring life in Mabase is rudely interrupted by the arrival of Haruko Haruhara, who bursts on the scene by running Naota over with her Vespa scooter and hitting him on the head with a blue vintage Rickenbacker 4001 left-handed electric bass guitar.[1][2] Later, Naota is shocked to find Haruko working in his house as a live-in maid.
Haruko's search for the alien being, Atomsk, puts her at odds with Medical Meccanica, the monolithic industrial corporation. At the same time, Naota is being watched by Commander Amarao. The Commander believes Haruko is in love with Atomsk and that Medical Meccanica is out to conquer the galaxy. The combination of circumstances get Naota involved in a three-way battle between Haruko, Amarao and Medical Meccanica.

My review:
OMG! I furikuried by brain out while I was watching it nya!!! Seriously it feels like your brain working too slow to process everything that is going on on the screan. One thing happens and you thinking like "What the?!" and before you can finish that phrase the thing is coming out of boy's head!!! The most bazaar and crazy anime I've seen so far but so funny and I liked a LOT nya! )) Now I have an idea why anime fans often say "nya"! It's all Furi Kuri's fault!

Alternative Name: D.N.Angel
Years of Released: April 3, 2003 – September 25, 2003
Episodes: 26
Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Shoujo
Favorite Characters : Dark
My Rating: PG
Grade: B-

Summary:
Daisuke Niwa is a 14-year-old boy who has a special genetic ability: whenever he sees or thinks about his crush, Risa Harada, he turns into the infamous phantom thief Dark. Satoshi Hiwatari is a student at the same school as Daisuke and the Harada twins, as well as the Commander of the police force who is heading the investigation on Dark. He is also member of the Hikari family, a clan of artists which has opposed the Niwa family of thieves for centuries.

My review:
It was a bit boring and way too slow I think. But that's in my opinion. Typical shoujo anime with elements of fantasy. It has it's audience and has right to exist. I tell you more. I know a lot of people who like it a lot. Even guys are among them which is still mystery to me but that's just me. Try it. You may like it or you may not. If you don't then just turn it off. As simple as that.

The Song of the Wind and the Trees

Posted by Nimfah

Alternative Name: Kaze to Ki No Uta, 風と木の詩
Years of Released: November 6, 1987
Runtime: 60 minutes
Genre: Drama, Historical, Psychological, Shounen Ai, Tragedy
Favorite Characters : Gilbert, Serge
My Rating: PG-16
Grade: A+

Summary:
Taking place in the late 19th century, the story is a recollection of his memories of Gilbert Cocteau at Laconblade Academy in Provene, France. Gilbert Cocteau is a promiscuous student who has a reputation for being a boy of corrupt morality since he frequently misses classes and engages in relations with older male students. However, Gilbert is a tortured young man who has been treated like an object all his life rather than a human being. The primary antagonist in the story - Gilbert's uncle, Auguste Beau - is a respected society figure who manipulates and sexually abuses his young nephew. Auguste's influence is so great that Gilbert actually believes that the two are in love, and Gilbert remains enthralled with Auguste, even to the bitter end when he finds out that Auguste isn't quite who he thought he was.
Golden-hearted Serge becomes fascinated with Gilbert, and tries to win his friendship despite being threatened with ostracism and even violence. Gilbert himself even rejects Serge's offer of friendship, although it seems that Serge may be Gilbert's only hope to escape this hellish life.

My review:
Oh wow. I liked it so much. The story is so sad but so touching. Brilliant! When I was watching it I had a feeling that I'm reading some classic literature book of 19th century. I am tempted to say it is the best shounen ai story I came upon so far. I doesn't have any "cute" element neither it is funny but the story is truly deep and sad but beautiful and freeing. It has the same feeling you have on a chilly November evening when you are looking at the setting sun thinking about the times that have came to pass and after closing your eyes you feel cold wind gently playing with your hair. That gentle yet painful feeling.

"Gilbert Cocteau...
You were the
wind stirring my
branches

Can you hear
the song of the wind
and trees?

Can you hear
the tumult of
our youth?

Ahhh... there
must be others
who remember...

their own
days of youth. "

This is "must see" even if you are not a fan of shounen-ai! I would recommend reading manga before watching an anime

Alternative Name: Erufen Rīto
Years of Released: July 25, 2004 – October 17, 2004
Episodes: 13 (and 10.5)
Genre: Drama, Horror, Psychological
Favorite Characters : Lucy
My Rating: R
Grade: A

Summary:
The story involves human mutations called "dicloniuses", who grow horns on their heads andpossess telekinetic powers, in the form of invisible "arms" called vectors.
The tendency for violence among dicloniuses varies among characters. Certain scientists contain them in a Facility in cells where they are subject to inhumane experiments to test their abilities or were they await execution for being too dangerous.
An infectious virus is also associated with the mutation. This virus is spred through non-lethal contact with the vectors of a diclonius.
The main non-mutant character in the story is Kouta, who ends up becoming icreasingly involved with these dicloniuses, as they seek refuge from the scientists.
The main diclonius character is Lucy/Nyuu a killer whose alter ego is a hapless, and very cute child whose vocabullary and intelligence is quite limited.
After a large amount of choice occurences the lives of these two characters becomes inexplicably entwined...

My review:
Well, I started watching this one 3 times because of all blood and violence. But somehow I managed to finish watching it. It this cause violence is justified. It actually gives something to the story and sets a certain mood. A plot is intriguing. Too bad that right when you understand everything the show is over. I'm hoping there will be next season. I liked this anime but I still have mixed feeling about it. I can see why there were so many good reviews about it.

Not for lighthearted that's for sure!

Sayonara Sad Sensei

Posted by Nimfah

Alternative Name: Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei
Years of Released: July 7, 2007 – September 23, 2007
Episodes: 12
Genre: Satire, Comedy, School Life
Favorite Characters : Sensei
My Rating: PG-16
Grade: C

Summary:
Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei revolves around a very pessimistic high school teacher named Nozomu Itoshiki who, at the very beginning of the series, tries to hang himself on a sakura tree. Despite this effort of self-destruction, he is saved by an extremely optimistic girl known only as Kafuka Fuura (though in her effort to save his life, she almost kills him). She explains to him that it is simply unimaginable that he would hang himself on such a nice day, especially in front of such beautiful trees. She decides to nickname Nozomu "Pink Supervisor" , and offers to pay him fifty yen to call him by that nickname. After having enough of the strange girl, Nozomu bolts to the school and starts his homeroom class, but the attempt to escape was in vain as he finds that the girl is one of his students. Not only that, but Kafuka is just the tip of the iceberg: each and every student in his class represents a new personality quirk or bizarre obsession, posing challenges that the suicidally-inclined teacher must overcome in spite of himself...

My review:
It was interesting in the begging but it turned out later that it has no plot. The style of anime is very unique and it's pretty neat. I'll give them some credits for that. There is not much more I can say. I has definitely has it's audience. It's worth a try.
