Time:
117 minutes
Genre:
Distopian, Sci-fi, Action
Favorite Characters :
Nausicaa
My Rating:
PG
Grade:
B

Summary:
One thousand years have passed since the Seven Days of Fire, an apocalyptic war that destroyed human civilization and gave birth to the vast Toxic Jungle,[Note 1] a forest swarming with giant mutant insects in which everything is lethal to humans. Scattered settlements exist wherever the Toxic Jungle relents. The Valley of the Wind is one such settlement. The Valley's settlers have a prophecy about a person, "clothed in blue robes, descending onto a golden field, to join bonds with the great earth and guide the people to the pure lands at last".

My review:
As one of the early works of a master Hayao Miyazaki, The Valley of The Wind lives up to glory of its legendary creator. However, for me, as always, it was a little hard to watch an older anime, where the imperfections are more умшвуте due to the lower lever of technology development thirty years ago. But putting that aside, great story, nice character development, and Miyazaki's spirit are all present here no doubt. Great watch for true connoisseurs of old school animation and fans of Miyazaki's works.

Alternative Name: サイコパス

Episodes:
23
Genre:
Cyberpunk, Dystopian, Science fiction, Thriller
Favorite Characters :
Kougami
My Rating:
PG-13
Grade:
A

Summary:
Psycho-Pass is set in a future where it is possible to instantaneously measure a person's mental state, personality, and the probability that a person will commit crimes, all through a device installed on each citizen's body called a Psycho-Pass. When this probability, measured by the "Crime Coefficient" index, is too high in an individual, they are pursued and apprehended—with lethal force, if necessary.

My review:
Great representation of cyberpunk. Although it is not my favorite genre but phycho-pass turned out to be a great watch for me. It was a rare case when I watched every episode with great interest and wanted to know how this all was going to end. The ending didn't dissapoint me either by the way. Very realistic and believable. The idea of having phycho-pass reminded me of "Minority Report" movie. I would watch it again.

Genre:

My Rating:

Summary:
The series takes place in the year "NC 1978" in a fictional, re-imagined version of New York City called Sternbild City, where 45 years before, superpowered individuals known as "NEXT" started appearing and some of them became superheroes. Each of the city's most famous superheroes work for a sponsor company and their uniforms also contain advertising for real-life companies. Their heroic activity is broadcast on the popular television show "Hero TV", where they accumulate points for each heroic feat accomplished (arresting criminals or saving civilians, for example) and the best ranked hero of the season is crowned "King of Heroes".

My review:

Yeah, superhero anime! How insane is that? Truthfully, I nearly choked on my drink when I saw this anime's post, but it turned out to be not so bad after all. The characters were funny, the story was pretty interesting. I didn't really like how they combined 2D and 3D together. My eyes did hurt when I was watching it. I guess it's all true what they write it the beginning of every anime about not to watch it in the dark room. Who knows...

The story takes place in an ideal city known as "No. 6". Shion, a boy raised in the elite and privileged environment of his home, gives shelter to another boy, who only gives his name as 'Nezumi' (Meaning mouse or Rat) on the former's 12th birthday. After spending a rainy night with his new friend, Shion discovers the next morning that Nezumi has disappeared without a trace. Four years later, Shion experiences a spate of incidents around him in which a deadly infection by parasitic bees causes its victims to age rapidly. Shion's co-worker is one of the victims and Shion is arrested on suspicion of murder. While Shion is being transported to the Correctional Institute, Nezumi appears and rescues him. Shion begins to find out the hidden truth behind the Ideal City No.6

My review:

I loved it. I watched No. 6 a couple of times already. Lots of people are debating whether it is shounen ai or not? Was it just friendship or something more between Nezumi and Shion? I believe everyone can think whatever they want. And it doesn't really matter because you wouldn't even be bothered with such small details when you get into the world of No. 6. Amazing animation, unique drawing style, colorful backgrounds, and dynamic story line made this anime a big success.

The Simoun can activate a magical power known as "Ri Maajon" that can destroy large numbers of enemies at once. When the industrialized nation of Argentum decides that it needs to invade Simulacrum to acquire the secret of the Simoun, war breaks out, drawing the Simoun "Sibyllae" (priestesses who fly the Simoun) into a lopsided battle. Because the war is raging, the Sibyllae are granted an exemption from choosing a permanent sex for as long as they're willing to keep flying. Aaeru, a determined young Sibylla with a mysterious past, and Neviril, the leader of Chor Tempest, Simulacrum's most elite Simoun squadron, must lead their fellow priestesses through conflict both within their ranks and in the sky...

My review:
I've never heard before of the idea of choosing a sex at some age so that was new and interesting. Anime itself is a bit unique I would say. Not for everyone that's for sure. I liked the last episode with it being very symbolic.

I guess fans of genre would find it interesting.

On the next day, it really happens...

My review:
Takumi is a real otaku. He is SO obsessed with computer games and manga! It was funny to observe him. The plot was mmm... lets say weird but I like weird stuff so we are good here. The reason I gave it B.... probably because I did not get to me much. I meant I wanted to know what will happen next but something was missing.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Posted by Nimfah

Alternative Name: Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu
Years of Released: April 2, 2006
Episodes: 14
Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, School Life, Science-fiction
My Rating: PG-16
Grade: C-

Summary:
The story is told by Kyon, one of the members of SOS Brigade, and is centered around Haruhi Suzumiya, a first-year high school student, and a group called the SOS Brigade, which she formed in order to look for and play with aliens, people from the future, people from alternate worlds, and other such extraordinary entities. The club name is actually an acronym of: Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade to greatly enliven the world. It is described as an unusual school story .

My review:
I disliked it. It's not that the idea was bad or something but the main character Haruhi just drives me nuts. She is such a spoiled BRAT and watching how everyone indulges her childish caprices was more than I could bear. Seriously. I would give her a good punch for all those things that she has done. Arrrr!!!... I was so annoyed...

Recommend:
The idea was very interesting so you can check it out.

Evangelion

Posted by Nimfah

Alternative Name: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Eva
Years of Released: October 4, 1995
Episodes: 26
Genre:Action, Drama, Mecha, Psychological, Science-fiction,
My Rating: PG-16
Grade: A+

Summary:
In 2015, the "Angels" have returned, and Shinji Ikari, a fourteen year-old child of the new Earth, is forced by his father Gendo--commander of the secret organization NERV--to pilot the monstrous biomechanical weapon called "Evangelion"(Eva) to match the Angels' fearsome power...
It's strange that 'Evangelion' has become such a hit - all the characters are so sick!
—Hideaki Anno, quoted in Wong 1996

My review:
Some may say it's genius, others may say it's rubbish... Eva is very interesting. It's one of those anime which you have to watch a couple of times to understand. I did not get the last 2 episodes till I watched the film "The End of Evangelion". Also I love a psychological part of Eva. There were some deep and interesting questions. They used Christian symbolism only to give the project a uniqueness  against other giant robot shows, and that it had no particular meaning(that's what director said). But it was still interesting to observe how people fight against "Angels". And it's true that the characters are all sick ^_^

Recommend:
Worth watching....if you are ready for it!
